Previously, she served as a hospitalist and medical consultant with Select Medical, Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital, Sentara, and Riverside Regional Hospital, and as Assistant Medical Director at Freida Gordon Hospice and Palliative Care of Tidewater.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the West Virginia School of Medicine and completed her residency at EVMS School of Medicine in 2011. Dr. Sivakumar has been board-certified in Internal Medicine since 2011.
